Chip was born and raised in Georgetown Texas to Bill and Tylene Edmiston. After attending Kindergarten through 12th grade, Chip attended South Plains College in Levelland, TX where he studied Agriculture Economics and was a member of the Livestock Judging Team. Chip then went on the Texas A&M University where he graduated Class of 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Science. A short drive North on Highway 6 took Chip to Falls County where he was a County Extension Agent working with the youth of Falls County in their 4-H program along with farmers and ranches of Falls County in multiple Ag industries. 2 ½ years later and recently married to Tracy Ford of Lampasas, Chip took a job with Capital Farm Credit as a loan officer in the Taylor Credit Office working with farmers and ranchers in Central Texas providing them loans to purchase land, cattle, farming supplies and other ag related items. After 5 years of working with local Realtors and helping hundreds of people purchase real estate through lending, Chip decided it was time to pursue his dream of entrepreneurship and obtain his real estate license. After interviewing and being interviewed by several local brokerages, Chip hung his hat with RE/MAX Centx Associates in Georgetown, the perfect town since Chip was born and raised here, went to church and school here, his father sold State Farm Insurance here for 40+ years and the real estate office was literally across Williams Dr. from the home his parents lived in when Chip was born. 2007 saw the biggest change in Chip’s life to date. Chip and his wife Tracy welcomed a baby girl into their lives. Shaylee was born May 2007. At the time, Tracy was a Kindergarten teacher in Liberty Hill and had to miss the last day of school to deliver said bundle of joy and Chip had a closing that day, which he had to miss as well (1st closing ever missed).
Chip spent the next 11 years as a RE/MAX agent winning awards each year including Executive Club, 100% Club, Platinum Club, Hall of Fame, Top 10 Each Quarter In The Region, Top 500 In The State. October 2016 saw another big change for Chip when he left RE/MAX and created Turner | Edmiston Properties to learn more about developing land and Commercial Real Estate. In January 2018, Chip decided to narrow his focus to Farm & Ranch and Residential properties and leave the commercial up to Turner Properties and changed his company’s name to Edmiston Properties. Edmiston Properties focuses on providing the BEST marketing for ALL their Residential and Farm & Ranch listings and is helping hundred’s each year find the perfect property.
When Chip has a few minutes of down time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Tracy and daughter Shaylee, where they help Shaylee with her love of animals especially horses where she competes in rodeos around the State of Texas. If not at a rodeo, Chip and his family are at the family ranch in Mason County, most likely riding horses, checking cattle or enjoying the beautiful country God has blessed them with.
Chip, Tracy and Shaylee are members of Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ in Georgetown, but also attend the Churches of Christ in Mason and Voca as much as possible. Their also members of the West Texas Rodeo Association, Central Texas Rodeo Association, Camp San Saba Masonic Lodge #555, Kiwanis and the Lone Star Model A Ford Club.
